Yes I think he does challenge what I think about teaching. I never thought of an open phone test being an option for students, let alone that the teachers prefer it. I agree with his points of teachers needing to be able to adapt to the new technologies and to be successful they must incorporate the new technology into school. I think that this is a good article and that it could help a lot of teachers out in the future because new technologies will only keep coming out.

Web Log 4
The five Web 2.0 websites I am going to use for the project is a calendar, grade book, chat room, quizlet, and a bibliography maker. The calendar is an easy way to keep track of the assignments for the semester and is easier to follow than a syllabus. It will be easy to mark down important dates for the students to remember things. The grade book will be used to keep grades and students will be able to see their grades with ease. The chat room is a good way for students to get in touch with each other and discuss things that they are having trouble with. The teacher will also go on during specific times so that students are able to chat with the professor and get help when needed. Quizlet will be a good way for students to prepare for quizzes and tests. The bibliography maker will help students cite their sources since most classes require papers to be done and a bibliography page is usually required.

Web Log 3
I interviewed Dr. Miller of the communications department for my web page project. He said that in order for this website to be useful to him it would have to incorporate things from the normal school year and also the summer sessions because he helps with the summer sessions. Some of the Web2 apps that he would like to have on it would be a grade book, a calendar, and an assignments page. He also would like to have links to websites such as the North American Association of Summer Sessions, the John Carroll homepage, the John Carroll summer session page, the registrar page for the summer sessions, and the Communications home page on there as well. These are some of the basic ideas that he gave me for a website that would be useful to him.

Web Log 2
Some of the website applications I would incorporate into the website I am making would be a grade book, a calendar, and a chat room. My goal is to create a student friendly website that is easy to navigate and for the student to find what they are looking with no effort. The chat room that I would put on there would be to help the students learn and study. A student would be able to access the chat room and go on and discuss assignments or notes or what was done in class and get a better understanding by talking to other students or the professor. I think these are the areas that should be on a website to make it easy to use and worth while for the student or professor.
